Rabbi inspires an 103 year old, wheelchair bound and blind in one eye.

Just read this from my classmate and friend, Rabbi Mendy Lewis from Old Tappan, NJ where he and his wife run a local Chabad Center.

A truly inspiring encounter.
After finishing my weekly Shabbat service at a local senior facility on Friday morning, a 103 year old wheelchair bound woman tells me that she's losing her eyesight (she is already blind in one eye). After expressing my sympathy and offering to pray for her, I tried to give her some words of hope and encouragement.
I told her that as challenging as it may be, she should remember that even though she may not be able to see those around her, her children and grandchildren, and those around her, will see her and will continue to be inspired by her smile and positivity.
She thanked me and we wished each other good Shabbos. As she wheeled herself away, the resident behind her says to me "Rabbi, thank you so much for your words, they meant so much to me. I have been blind for six months".
We should never underestimate the power of our words and actions. Someone may just be watching or listening and we can be their beacon of light, positivity and joy.
Shvua tov.

Thank you Mendy! You continue to inspire me too.
